Choosing Australia as your location during the Ubuntu install sets up a lot of local settings. However there are a few things you can do to further customise Ubuntu for use here.

It too works like an Ubuntu Desktop CD - boots to the live environment and offers the graphical installer. Again, you'll need to have a DVD reader to use it.

At the June 27 meeting, it was decided that a poll would be held to redecide the night that the team IRC meeting should be on. At the meeting on July 11, it was decided to respect the results of the poll, and change the meeting to Monday nights. This makes the next meeting 1000 UTC on Monday, July 24.

As of today, June 28th, the Australian Local Community Team was approved as an official, Canonical-recognised team!

The upshot of this is that it means our work is actually recognisable, and that we're achieving! Congratulations everyone!
